Parade Day

Parade Day is Sunday 4/28/19 at the Mattakeesett Field Complex.  The parade will start promptly at 10:00am at the far back softball field.  Players, please arrive by 9:30am.  You only need to be in uniform, no gloves or equipment needed for the parade. If you are in Single A and AA you will play in the afternoon (times and fields TBD).

Families can line the road from the softball fields around field C, then behind McPhillips.  The kids will enter McPhillips field on the 1st base side for the ceremony.

After the ceremony on McPhillips Field, we will take Divisional team photos followed by the usual hot dog lunch sponsored by The Lucky Dawg.  Lunch will be free for players/coaches and parents can purchase the same for $5.00.  The new and improved Snack Bar will be open as well.  We will have bounce houses for enjoyment after the ceremonies and we are working with the High School to schedule their Parade Day game at noon on the Big Diamond.

PYB 2019 Bat Requirements

Inline with USA Baseball, Babe Ruth, and Cal Ripken standards, PYB will adopt the 2019 Bat requirements for all PYB ages.  More info here: https://www.usabaseball.com/bats  Approved bat list here: https://usabat.com/  Additional Ripken info here: https://www.ripkenbaseball.com/bat-rules

Bottom line, please make sure any new bat you purchase have one of these logos:

The reasoning behind the new bats are not due to safety reasons.  The goal is to make our game more uniform at the youth level and ensuring the long-term integrity of the game.  USA Baseball has concluded that recent advancements in science, engineering, technology, and the materials available to fabricate non-wood bats, now allow the manufacturers to construct youth bats that can perform at a wood-like level through the entire range of lengths and weights of youth bats.

Thanks,

-PYB
